Hi Robin

 

I know it is a long time since you posted this, but I have only just seen it.

 

I love Kenny and have quite a few of his shows, but the link on this one is dead.

 

Any chance of a re-upload?

Many forum users have problems with Zippyshare AlJo, hence the alternative link to PixelDrain. :-)

      Count Basie and his Orchestra – The kid from the red bank. Er is al een vermelding in de discografie en dus kan worden toegevoegd: Dit nummer uit 1958 werd in 1959 in de categorie ‘Jazz Performances and Dance Bands’ een Grammy Award. Het was trouwens de eerste keer dat de Grammy’s werden uitgereikt. Op Radio London maakte Kenny Everett in 1965 een prachtige promo waarin ondermeer: ‘Radio London is proud to present the new Fabulous Forty’.

There is already a mention in the discography and so can be added: This song from 1958 won a Grammy Award in 1959 in the category 'Jazz Performances and Dance Bands'. By the way, it was the first time that the Grammy's were awarded. On Radio London Kenny Everett made a beautiful promo in 1965 which included: 'Radio London is proud to present the new Fabulous Forty'.

      Central Band of the Royal Air Force – The Dam Busters March. Het was in 1954 dat Eric Coates als een soort van oefening een mars componeerde en enkele dagen later werd hij gevraagd een mars te leveren voor de film ‘The Dam Busters’. Hij had het op de plank en dus werd het als thema voor voornoemde film gebruikt die vooral ging over ‘Operation Chastise’. In de nazomer van 1965 gebruikte Kenny Everett het nummer om een promotiespot in te spreken voor een gesponsord programma op Radio London: The Seymour Radio Bingo Club, dat iedere woensdagavond was te beluisteren via de 266 meter.
       
      Central Band of the Royal Air Force - The Dam Busters March. He had it on the shelf and so it was used as a theme for the aforementioned film, which was mainly about 'Operation Chastise'. In the late summer of 1965 Kenny Everett used the number to produce a promotion spot for a sponsored programme on Radio London: The Seymour Radio Bingo Club, which could be listened to every Wednesday evening via the 266 meter.

      Norrie Paramor and his Orchestra – The song from Moulin Rouge (Where is your heart). Afkomstig uit de Romulus film ‘Moulin Rouge’. Voor dit nummer gaan we terug naar de tijd van de breekbare 78-toerenplaat en wel op het Columbia label uit het jaar 1953. Dit nummer werd gekoppeld aan ‘April in Portugal’. Het is toch mooi dit decennia later te vinden en te kunnen vertalen dat het nummer ‘The song from Moulin Rouge’ was dat Kenny Everett op Radio London in 1965 gebruikte voor een promo ten bate van het ochtendprogramma van ‘TW’, ofwel Tony Windsor.
