Ten tijde van de opname van de lp ‘The Sound behind Johnny Cash’ bestond de groep uit W.S. Holland, Marshall Grant en Bob Wootton. Het was Graham Gill die de instrumentale versie van ‘A boy named Sue’ gebruikte voor het inzingen van een promo ten bate van het programma ‘Don Allen’s country Jamboree’ op RNI in 1974. Earl Scruggs - Nashville Skyline Rag. De "Nashville Skyline Rag" is een bekende compositie van Bob Dylan. Eric Weissberg - Shuckin' The Corn. Eén van de prachtige nummers uit de Soundtrack van de film ‘Deliverance’ uit 1973. Der film kwam trouwens in 1972 al in de bioscopen in de VS. Het was in 1974 Don Allen die de soundtrack in de productiestudio van RNI op de MEBO II op de draaitafel legde voor het maken van een promotiespot ten bate van zijn eigen Country Jamboree programma, dat iedere zaterdagavond tussen 8 en 10 uur Britse tijd werd uitgezonden. Tientallen artiesten hebben dit nummer in de loop der decennia opgenomen voor verspreiding op vinyl dan wel cd. Het nummer werd soms ook als instrumentale versie uitgebracht, zo als die van Count Basie. Het was in 1967 dat Don Allen op Caroline North een lange spot insprak om de luisteraars op te roepen – in het kader van de vrijheid in de ether – vooral een brief te schrijven maar de lokale MP in The House of Lords om duidelijk te maken dat men voor vrije radio was in plaats van een monopolypositie voor de BBC. De instrumentale versie van Count Basie van het nummer ‘I got it bad and that ani’t good’ werd hiervoor ingezet. Count Basie and his Orchestra - I got it bad and that ain't good. Jerry Byrd and his String Dusters – Steel Guitar Rag. Een nummer dat in 1949 al werd opgenomen op het Mercury label door Jerry Byrd. Hij kwam ter wereld in 1920 als Gerald Byrd in het plaatsje Lima in de Amerikaanse staat Ohio. Zijn manier van steelgitaar spelen leverde hem de titel ‘master of touch and tone op’.
