Neil Gates has posted on another website that ex-Caroline DJ Judy Murphy has died.

In memory of Judy Murphy, here is a short excerpt from her first show on Radio Caroline on 19th July 1988, recorded here in Felixstowe.

The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame biography of her reads: "A Canadian DJ, real name Adrianne Sebastian-Scott, she had studied Radio and TV in Toronto. While travelling in Europe, a chance meeting with former Radio Monique DJ Herbie Visser led to her joining Radio Caroline. She left the station around Christmas & then joined Radio Luxembourg where she broadcast as Jodie Scott. She later worked on Sunshine Radio in Luxembourg before moving to the UK to work as an actress, voice-over and singer. She suffered from multiple sclerosis and sadly passed away on 2nd January 2024."

The photo was taken at Communicate 88 in Blackpool in September of that year (credit to unknown photographer).

Thank you for the nice quality recording, and for finding such a nice photo.

1988... hard to believe it is so long ago. I remember Judy recording a Lotto 6/49 ad

with Steve Conway, which was always amusing to hear.  Those were the great days of

proper radio, which are still much missed by many.

Another story from Herbie is that Judy broke into his home in the middle of the night... with 5 of her female friends. He woke up "surrounded by six women".
