Nice to explore during the weekend is a 10 hours series, narrated by Tenessee Ernie Ford with assistance from professor David Morton, way back 32 years ago as it was transmitted on several AFRTS outlets on one of the Holiday weekends. Erg leuk. AFN had de gewoonte om tijdens feestdagen als Thanksgiving en Independence Day lange marathonuitzendingen te presenteren rond een of ander thema. Zo kan ik me nog een Beatles Story herinneren die urenlang doorging. Als ik op de nieuwsuitzendingen afga, is dit een FM-opname van 27 november 1980: het is Thanksgiving, er wordt gesproken over de nieuwe 'Reagan-administration' (hij is eerder die maand tot president gekozen), en de gijzelaars in Iran zijn nog niet vrij.
