Are you certain of the date, in Michael Downing's log for this date, he says RNI leaves the air at 2200 and there is only time for Robb Eden's show and the 1st hour of Paul May's Show (15/02/1972).

! am sure this date is correct.

 

In the week of 12-19th February 1972 the RNI Smashplay on the English Service was The guitar man by Bread. This record has been played during this hour.

 

Brian says it's a Tuesday evening and that was the 15th February 1972. And it is correct what Micheal Downing mentioned in his log, that RNI leaves the air on 22 hours, so I think Paul May has a day-off.
