Het was wellicht wat verwarrend in de uitzending van De Reunie. Je kunt daar de indruk van krijgen dat ons hele archief in de garage in 't Gooi ligt. Dat geldt wel voor de banden en het papieren archief. Maar geen paniek, dat is allemaal gedigitaliseerd.

Maar, velen weten het al, de "grote" spullen, bijvoorbeeld ons studio's staan mooi opgesteld in Museum RockArt en zullen daar ook blijven. Sterker nog, een aantal mensen is druk doende om de studio's flink onder handen te nemen.

Voor meer uitleg verwijs ik jullie naar het filmpje dat Ad maakte en Alex zo mooi wist te monteren.

Ik weet natuurlijk dat de banden en het papieren archief gedigitaliseerd zijn. Dat is een geruststellend idee. Maar afgezien daarvan: er gaat niets boven de originelen, en toen ik dat filmpje van die garage zag, dacht ik wel bij mezelf: je zou misschien beter een kluis kunnen huren bij een professioneel opslagbedrijf. Een magazijn dat bewaakt wordt en waar ze doen aan klimaatcontrole en brandpreventie.

Het is maar een gedachte... en het is niet mijn bedoeling een bemoeial te zijn. Ik heb hoe dan ook alle respect voor degenen die dit alles zo zorgvuldig verzameld en bewaard hebben.

Dear friends,

I want to clarify a few things after the very interesting and informative television show ‘The Reunion’ about the old Radio Veronica employees was shown on Dutch national television last Sunday, the 23rd of February. In that show it looked as if all the old equipment, tapes and everything from the past concerning 'Veronica' was stored and piled up in an old shed somewhere unsafe.

This is certainly not the case. It’s true that in that garage there were shown to be some barrels containing old tapes, but these are just fine there. Dry and well protected.

In fact we have so much more, and that is all on display for everybody to see at Museum RockArt at Hoek van Holland. Goto www.rockart.nl and I'm sure you will be amazed and impressed with what you can find there, and I would highly recommend to anybody that it's certainly worthwhile making the effort to visit the museum. There you will discover the original Zeedijk studio which is also at Hoek van Holland. (the first studio from the sixties) together with a full operational studio from De Utrechtseweg (Lapershoek).

I repeat dear friends, the impression given on TV of the equipment being stock piled in a lock-up was inaccurate. In fact it's all on display at the museum, containing a vast collection of archive material, memorabilia, and a wide variety of other equipment, including miniature ship models, t-shirts and lots and lots more . Added to that, all tapes are digitalised and all those old programs can be heard at www.192radio.nl

All our other equipment is on display at the permanent exposition at RockArt Museum at Hoek van Holland. A good example, as you can see behind me, is the onboard studio of The Norderney. So, if you want to see all this memorabilia, just come to the Hoek van Holland and enjoy. It will be a very worthwhile and golden opportunity for anyone interested.
