KBC heeft bekend gemaakt de korte golf uitzendingen op zondag op 6095 kHz met ingang van het A16 seizoen te beëindigen.

Dat betekent, dat op 27 maart 2016 de laatste uitzendingen de lucht ingaan.

De beslissing heeft te maken met de toenemende kosten voor het uitzenden op Korte Golf en de wens om de uitzendingen via 1602 kHz en DAB+ verder te willen uitbouwen. Enige weken geleden heeft KBC al de hulp van de luisteraars ingeroepen om te proberen er nieuwe sponsors bij te krijgen. Dit heeft tot nu te weinig resultaat opgeleverd.

Over het al dan niet stoppen van de KG uitzending op Canada en Noord-Amerika op zondagmorgen van 00.00-03.00 UTC op 6040 kHz wordt spoedig een besluit verwacht.
