Dear Friends,

 

One of my fondest memories of offshore radio is the tests from the Mi Amigo on Christmas Day 1973. I listened right through until closedown on the morning of the 26th. I know I did have recordings of most of the day, but now all I can find is this from 1258-1506. It was a special memory for me as my first Christmas listening to the offshore stations.

Could I ask that someone can provide recordings of the rest of the day. I think I had most of the evening from around 8pm until close but I cant find it!!!

The tape is digitalized. The problem with my progress is that it takes way much more time than I expected to edit the recordings.

Douwe has described the recordings on the tapes in full detail. Although his handwriting is not his main quality, I typed it in the PC untill tape 100.

About 30 tapes are sorted out and are mostly posted on the forum already.

I could post the full 4 parts of this tape (including info). You would have to edit them yourself.

If anyone is willing to help with editing, I can provide the full tapes with the written details.

It would mean all Douwe's  files can be available for everyone much sooner.

Hi Douwe, it seems to be stuck on a short piece of recording and plays it over and over again.

One of the first records played in this non stop programme is: We got to have peace from Curtis Mayfield. When the single nearly ended, the music becomes in a loop and plays that piece of music over and over again during the rest of the recordingtime (60 minutes).
