Mi Amigo’s Top 50 from December 25th 1976 with Ferry Eden on

www.foutemuziekradio.nl

On www.foutemuziekradio.nl it’s usually you can hear a Mi Amigo retro Top 50 every last Saturday of the month, but this time it will be different! There was no original 1976-one for Christmas as on the Saturday there was a special Christmasshow all afternoon! The special show was presented by Bart van Leeuwen, Peter van Dam and the Playa team and interrupted between three and five by a live program from the radioship with Marc Jacobs and Frank van der Mast.

Also that certain Mi Amigo time was roaring and literally there was lots of old & new. On December 3rd 1976 live-presenter Jan van der Meer left the ship for the last time and early 1977 Hugo Meulenhoff was the new deejay/newsreader. On December 9th the Mi Amigo tune was introduced, The Bronx by Claude Vallois. Two days later the station left its familiar frequency 1187 kHz (259 meters) and moved to 1562 kHz (192 meters) with a set of new Mi Amigo 192-jingles made by Octopus, Catapult and Road.

On December 22th Marc and Frank did live programs all day, probably because supplying the radioship failed and there were no tapes from Spain. Christmas morning Stan Haag performed a beautiful Christmas story. Marc Jacobs told on the radio that he had been sun sunbathing on the deck and that there were presents for the live-deejays from Playa.

So... the Top 50 of December 25, 1976 has never been broadcast before. This hitparade is presented by Ferry Eden with the current adverts and new jingles from those days. Peter van Dam, Top 50 presenter at the time, did his last few Top 50 programs early 1977 and exchanged the Spanish Mi Amigo studio for presentation work as a Hilversum III broadcaster.

The Top 50 was from that point on presented as a live program from the radioship. The balance of three years of Radio Mi Amigo was that all presenters from the first period had left the station. Radio Mi Amigo however went on – with ups and downs - and also attracted new listeners in 1977 and 1978. The station had a large audience and in one year time the Mi Amigo Fan Club of Mireille and Fernand Moerman had about 2000 members.

Radio Mi Amigo and the Top 50 of 41 years ago, don’t miss it, Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2017 between twelve and three o’ clock (CET) via www.foutemuziekradio.nl
