I recently bought a reel of tape on eBay that featured some recordings of Radio Scotland that were made in Ayr for the late Leon Tipler. The town of Ayr is very close to the Firth of Clyde anchorage of the Comet, so the quality is good. In fact these are the best quality off air recordings I have heard of Radio Scotland
