If you're not already aware, we would like to draw your attention to a Pirate Radio Day on Sunday 13th August at the Spa Pavilion Felixstowe, with a number of special guests from the days of watery wireless!

Hosted by Roger Twiggy Day (Radio England, Radio Caroline, Radio Northsea International and now Boom Radio), other names from the 1960's coming include Mark West/Wesley (Radio Essex, BBMS, Radio 270, Radio Scotland & in the 1970's, RNI, Radio Luxembourg & Radio Orwell), Pete Brady & Ian Damon from Radio London, Susan Moore (daughter of Reg Calvert, the owner of Radio City, who was shot dead by Major Oliver Smedley), Bob Le-Roi (Radio City), Chris Gosling (Tower Radio) &, just added Nick Bailey of Caroline North and South, and for many years on Classic FM.

From the 1970's, guests include Paul May from RNI, John Dwyer & Ray Warner from Radio Atlantis and from Radio Caroline, Norman Barrington, Paul Rusling & Michael Barrington, while Norman Lloyd was on the Voice of Peace, before later working for Radio Orwell and BBC Radio Suffolk. Also just added is James Ross/Kelvin Carter, who was on Radio Caroline between 1975 & 1978.

Guests from Caroline and Laser in the 1980's include hypnotist & best selling author Paul McKenna, Peter 'World Service' Philips (broadcast on the Ross Revenge during the October 1987 storm), Paul Dean, Dave Richards, Carl Kingston, Stuart Vincent, Tony Kirk (on board the Ross Revenge during the August 1989 raid by the authorities), Jerry Wright, Paul Graham, Ray Anderson, Chris Cooper, Bob Matthews (Mower), Nick Bolland (Carter), Carol Maszka (who was on board the Ross Revenge when she sailed from Spain in 1983), Tony Christian & Barry James.

In addition, we're also hoping to be joined by Caroline 648 transmitter engineer Alan Beech and Mandy Marton, Ross Revenge chief engineer Peter Clayton, David & Robert Cragie with the Moggy Van Radio Collection, veteran offshore radio photographer David Kindred, and Jon Myer of the Pirate Radio Hall of Fame website.

There will also be merchandise for sale, plus book signings by Roger Day, Susan Moore, Nick Bailey and Mark Wesley.

The attached document shows the planned running order for the day. In the evening there is also a Pirate Banquet with some of our guests.

We hope that you can join us! To book tickets, go to:
