Beste Roel,

After consulting Jan-Fre's Index, this seems to be the second half of Danny the Eagle's programme 0533-0602 on Saturday 19th August 1989. I have found a file that says "0451-0602 nonstop (edits 29mins)". It is the same recording as that posted by Roel. Guessing from Jan-Fre's, I would say that the run time would be 0525-0602 (edits 29mins). Comments?

Mvg,

I suspect (but not sure) this is Monday 7th August 1989. Anoraks UK give 9am Nigel Harris and 11am Neil Gates as part of the line-up for Thursday 10th August (from the edition of the following Saturday). From the text, there is nothing to suggest the schedule differed in previous days.

At 18m 45s, Nigel mentions that it's raining and he has no umbrella. There seem to be lightning crashes at the start of the recording.

Historic records for RAF Manston show drizzle (and later thunder) on Monday 7th August:

There is also rain on Friday 11th August, but Nigel also mentions that he'll be back the next day at 9am, so it's probably not Friday.

The following week was the same schedule according to the next edition of Anoraks UK and Wednesday 16th August did have light rain around that time of day.

However at 30m 15s, Neil plays the "brand new single" from Shooting Party: "I Go To Pieces". This reached the top-100 for 1 week (29th July 1989) then dropped out of the chart, so my feeling is that the recording is not from the middle of August.

It’s actually Eddie the Eagle. Eddie was a cook on the Ross and helped out by spinning a few nonstop hours. I can’t remember his surname but seem to recall an interview with Eddie in Offshore Echos many years ago.
