Een nummer geschreven door Sid Tepper in 1948 op de avond nadat hij ruzie had gehad met zijn vrouw en haar als spijt met de woorden: ‘Red roses for a blue lady’ een bos mooie rozen aanbod en dacht ‘dat is een pracht titel voor een lied’. Het werd een jaar later opgenomen door Vaughn Monroe en later door tal van artiesten en orkesten. Sid Tepper was trouwens verantwoordelijk voor meer dan 50 songs van Elvis Presley. Op Radio Mi Amigo gebruikte Stan Haag de uitvoering van Red Roses door het orkest van Mantovani op het einde van het programma Stan Haag Vandaag op naar het nieuws van 12 uur. Dit was op 31 augustus 1976 en ook stond hij stil bij het gegeven dat twee jaar eerder Radio Veronica en Radio Noordzee gedwongen waren de ether te verlaten. Mantovani - Red roses for a blue lady. Mantovani and his Orchestra – Goodnight Sweetheart. Dit orkest onder leiding van Annunzio Paolo Mantovani heeft vele mooie nummers gespeeld waaronder ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’. In 1961 werd het door Tony Vos gebruikt om de dagelijkse programma’s van Radio Veronica, naar een uurtje met dansmuziek, af te sluiten.
