Dieuwertje Blok heeft besloten haar werk als presentatrice definitief neer te leggen. De kanker die eerder bij haar werd vastgesteld en een neusamputatie noodzakelijk maakte, is teruggekeerd.


Blok was van plan op 7 februari haar werkzaamheden bij het NPO Klassiek-programma NTR Podium te hervatten, maar heeft nu laten weten dat dit niet doorgaat. Daarnaast stopt zij ook met haar rol bij Het Sinterklaasjournaal.


In april vorig jaar legde Blok haar werk al tijdelijk neer na de diagnose. Destijds werd ervan uitgegaan dat zij na haar behandeling zou terugkeren. Nu de ziekte is uitgezaaid, heeft zij de keuze gemaakt om haar energie volledig te richten op haar behandeling.


Blok heeft aangegeven dat ze positief blijft en wil genieten van wat er nog mogelijk is. Ze vraagt om haar privacy te respecteren.
