Vijf jaar geleden presenteerde Tim Fisher een afscheidseditie van de Eurohit-40 op Radio Netherlands - de Engelse dienst van de Wereldomroep.

 

Voor één keer geen actueel Europees hit-overzicht, maar vijfenzestig jaar Nederlandse popmuziek in vijftien minuten, van Eddie Christiani tot Gers Pardoel.

 

Uitgezonden op 29 juni 2012 per kortegolf naar "de zendrichtingen" Noord-Amerika, Azië, Afrika, en Europa. Voor die laatste uitzenddag had de distributieafdeling van de Wereldomroep - op eigen initiatief - nog allerlei zendfrequenties gereactiveerd die al lang waren stilgelegd. Zo ging dat indertijd, en als producer van die laatste dag van de Engelse uitzendingen ben ik ze er nog steeds dankbaar voor.
