Living Strings – Medley We wish you a merry Christmas and more

Het was in 1959 dat Ethel Gabriel het idee kreeg een studioorkest op te richten met als doel een serie easy listening LP’s op te nemen met wel overbekende deuntjes. In verschillende samenstellingen werd het orkest vooral geleid door Johnny Douglas. Eén van de LP’s heette ‘The spirit of Christmas with the Living Strings’ van deze werd de medley beginnende met ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ gebruikt op Britain Radio tijdens de Kerst van 1966 door Ted Delaney als tune voor zijn programma.
