Jumping Jewels, the – Zambessi. Formatie afkomstig uit Den Haag dat eerst optrad onder de naam ‘Johnny and his Jewels’. Jan van Leeuwarden, zoals Johnny Lion officieel door het leven ging, was de leadzanger van de groep die ook vele instrumentale nummers ons schonken. De laatste dreun van het nummer ‘Zambessi’ werd op Radio Noordzee (REM-eiland) in 1964 gebruikt als pingel tussen de diverse items in ‘MP Extra, Extra editie Muziek Parade’ een soort programmaonderdeel met popnieuwtjes gepresenteerd door Ben Bruna.
