Opening Radio Mercur 1958

NBC Symphony Orchestra – Beethoven Symphonie nr 7 in A Major Opus 92. Een prachtige uitvoering van dit klassieke werk uit 1951 met het orkest onder leiding van Arturo Toscanini. Het blijkt dat deze uitvoering deels werd gebruikt als eerste muziekstuk op de openingsdag van Radio Mercur op 2 augustus 1958. Na een enkele jingle en inleidende woorden volgde het NBC Symphony Orchestra.

It appears that this performance was partly used as the first piece of music on the opening day of Radio Mercur on 2 August 1958. A few jingle and introductory words were followed by the NBC Symphony Orchestra.
