Heinz Funk Electronic Combo – Scotch Whiskey

Heinz Funk werd in 1915 geboren in het Duitse Hennef en kwam in 2013 te overlijden. Heinz was een Duits filmcomponist, muziekproducent en synthesizer specialist. Funk werd door Jürgen Roland naar de film gehaald en maakte vooral in de jaren zestig van de vorige eeuw naam als componist van talrijke partituren voor speelfilms, cultuurfilms, televisieprogramma's en commercials. Hij was de oprichter en partner van Studio Funk met vestigingen in Hamburg, Berlijn, Frankfurt am Main en Düsseldorf voor de muziekproductie voor AV-media van allerlei aard.

Hij was een specialist en importeur voor Moog synthesizers. De Heinz Funk Electronic Combo nam in 1973 de lp ‘Moog Synthesizer Music’ (1973) waarop ook het nummer Scotch Whiskey. Bijna een halve eeuw werd naar de herkomst van dit nummer gezocht door een aantal jinglefans. Het werd namelijk door Steve England gebruikt bij de productie van een prachtige sonovox jingle voor Robin Banks op RNI. Alle eer voor de vondst naar Mark Stafford.

 

Heinz Funk Electronic Combo - Scotch Whiskey

Heinz Funk was born in 1915 in Hennef, Germany and died in 2013. Heinz was a German film composer, music producer and synthesizer specialist. Funk was brought to film by Jürgen Roland and made a name for himself as a composer of numerous scores for feature films, cultural films, television programmes and commercials, especially in the 1960s. He was the founder and partner of Studio Funk with branches in Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf for music production for AV media of all kinds.

He was a specialist and importer for Moog synthesizers. The Heinz Funk Electronic Combo recorded the LP 'Moog Synthesizer Music' (1973), which also includes the song Scotch Whiskey. The origin of this song was searched for almost half a century by some jingle fans. It was used by Steve England in the production of a beautiful sonovox jingle for Robin Banks on RNI. All credit for the find goes to Mark Stafford.
