Ik heb deze opname genoteerd op vrijdag 2 december 1988.

Tony zegt dat het een vrijdagavond is en dat na hem Kevin Nelson komt en dat Ian Palmer aan hem vooraf ging.

In het bijgaande presentatie overzicht klopt het wat betreft Kevin Nelson. Echter niet dat Ian Palmer aan hem voorafging.

Desondanks hou ik het toch op deze datum want in dit presentatie-overzicht ben ik de combinatie Ian Palmer-Tony Kirk op vrijdag nergens tegen gekomen.

Dus heb ik deze opname als volgt genoteerd:

According to the Pirate Radio Hall of Fame, Ian Palmer was only with Caroline for 2 weeks beginning in November 1988. According to the presentatieoverzicht, his first show wason 28th November and his last 10th December. Also Tony says that Neil will be on from 0100-0500, making a point of Caroline being on 24hours.

1) Evening weather is given at 6m25s and 18m10s: dry, min. 8C, winds W light, sea calm, visibility good. Note the high temperature for a December night.

The temperature records given for RAF Manston: minimum is 0C on morning of Saturday 3 December 1988 (at 1 to 2 am), but 8C for the morning of Saturday 10 December 1988 (at 3 am).

Also at 13m15s, Tony says it's been a pleasant day: "very calm, we've been rocking nice and gently all day long, which makes quite a change from earlier in the week".

Sure enough, checking the records, there were strong gusts of wind for the evening of Monday 5 and most of Tuesday 6 December 1988.

2) At 14m15s, there's a promo for the Caroline Rock Show at the Corn Exchange, Bury St. Edmunds (Tuesday 27 December 1988).

I believe this promo was actually recorded on the evening of Tuesday 6 December 1988 (the stormy day). If you're wondering how I know this? Anoraks UK report no. 240:
