Danny Robins explores the little known story of Johnny Cash the prison reformer. Cash's classic albums recorded at Folsom Prison and San Quentin are well known but few are aware that these were just two of many prison concerts he played over decades. Robins discovers how the singer became a passionate prison reformer who donated his own money to the cause, took a prisoner into his home and met Richard Nixon to force the issue. Away from the spotlight of Folsom and San Quentin, Robins uncovers two neglected prison concerts. In Arkansas, he discovers a forgotten concert from one of the worst prisons in America at the time, Cummins Penitentiary. We go inside …

"There is a little known story about how some Texas new car dealers and KLIF once had the British government in a quandary! Ed Wallace, the host of “Wheels” on KLIF, told this historical “Backside” story on KLIF on March 23 (posted March 21). Missed it? Here’s the fascinating story!! (36 minutes)." When I travel in the US (spent my summer vacation there in the last couple of years) I usually listen to Sirius XM while driving. Unfortunately, it is not possible to subscribe legally outside of North America. However, due to a Covid-19 related promotion, Sirius XM was streaming worldwide for free in April and May. Here are some recordings of channel 56, SXM The Highway, from April 9, 2020 0506-1300. Sound quality is mediocre as I recorded from the sound card of my laptop. If there is any interest I could post more of my recordings. I would love to get other recordings of SXM Country stations from times other than April and May 2020. https://pixeldra.in…
