Johnny Camaro – Don’t worry be happy. We kennen het nummer van Bobby McFerrin en het was Johnny Camaro die er in 1988 een Nederlandstalige persiflage van maakte en het met een Surinaams accent ten gehore bracht. Achter Johnny Camaro ging Alfred Lagarde schuil. De in Groningen geboren Lagarde begon zijn loopbaan bij Radio Noordzee en was verder onder meer te horen via de VARA en Veronica. Big Al, zoals Lagarde ook werd genoemd, nam als Johnny Camaro nog een aantal platen op, waaronder: ‘Oh darling dans nog een keer met mij’ (1982), ‘Ik ben de weg kwijt’ (1989) en ‘Want we gaan weer dansen’ (Met Olga Lowina 1991). Hij kwam in 1998 op 49-jarige leeftijd te overlijden.
