The aircheck of Atlantis is interesting as it had moved to 1322 kHz from 1331 to avoid the jamming from Italy. You can hear Radio Moscow in English causing interference. That transmitter was located in East Germany.

Ā

From Monitor magazine;

A further frequency change was made by Atlantis on April 4th. This was done in order to avoid the continuing night-time "jamming" of the station. They moved one channel IF onto 1322 kHz, but unfortunately it was a case of out of the frying-pan and into the fire, because a powerful Russian propaganda station located in East Germany was already on this channel, making reception impossible after 18.00 BST. Their error was soon realised and they returned to 1331 kHz, plus the "jamming", on April 7th.Ā

nice, it was waiting till 16th April 74 when Steve England announced that Atlantis would move to 312m 962khz, but it could be also 773khz 385m. Later we heard Atlantis on 312m. And Atlantis was never heard on 385m.

Another interesting aircheck. Atlantis must be back on 1331 kHz as when Andy Anderson is closing the station at 13:26 in the recording, you can hear the Italian jammer starting.

Ā

I assume they were closing early in

preparation for the move to 962 kHz in a few days time.Ā
