The countdowns are supersized because the edited down version of some songs are replaced with the full length version. Song edits happened quite often when when AT40 was 3 hours in the 70's, edits happened less often once the countdown went 4 hours in 1978.

I understand, thanks for the explanation on the "supersized". Also here in NL some DJs "shortened" the records (in one case because the guy was not necessarily very thrilled about the song or artist ).

 

I think I recognised the voice of the guy who announced the AT40 of 1973. I think it's the same person who made announcements on the AT40's that were broadcast in 2007/2008 by the CFN through satellite here in Europe.

Game show host Wink Martindale passed last week so there was a bonus show this week. Wink guest hosted AT40 on October 11 1975 so a supersized version was aired by WTOJ on Sunday.
