Count Basie Orchestra – Red Bank Boogie. William James Basie was de officiële geboortenaam van Count Basie en in 1935 richtte hij zijn eigen orkest op. Naast orkestleider was hij pianist, organist, arrangeur en componist. In 1944 verscheen het nummer ‘Red Bank Boogie’ voor het eerst op Schellak  platen. Voor gebruik op een zeezenders komen we terecht bij Radio Mercur, waar het werd gebruikt als tune voor de verjaardagshow.
