KBLA uit Los Angeles was een radiostation dat een typisch Amerikaanse, swingende presentatie combineerde met allerlei geweldige sixties-muziek van Dylan, The Doors, Love, etc. Het klinkt mij allemaal prachtig in de oren, maar toch trok het kennelijk niet genoeg adverteerders en het station was gedoemd te verdwijnen. Wat je hier hoort, is 2 uur van het laatste programma dat werd uitgezonden, op de avond van 16 juni 1967. Na het nieuws van enkele minuten voor twaalf volgt een dramatisch moment: KBLA neemt afscheid van zijn luisteraars en na een paar officiële toespraakjes worden de call-letters veranderd in KBBQ. Middag forumleden, Wellicht een raar verzoek, maar heeft iemand nog een leuke USA radio opname liggen van een oldies / rock station met veel jingles en strakke presentatie? Ik zoek een beetje wat opnames tussen 1980 en nu. Mis soms een beetje de opnames hier op het forum van oldies station zoals ik die graag beluisterde tijdens mijn vakanties in de USA.
