    I have a file that reads 1975 05 00 xxx R Caroline (259m) Simon Barrett, Don Stevens (edits 28mins). Can you or any other forum member come up with a more believable date. Don Stevens' stint on the Mi Amigo was 5th March to 25th April (as verified by Don in his DJ profile in Pirate Radio Hall of Fame), therefore May cannot be the correct month. Comments?

    The first recording is on a Wednesday evening and is given by Jan-Fre as 1803-1817. I don't think it can be 5th March as that was Don's first night on Caroline. It can't be 26th as Don followed Simon Barrett that night. Therefore, it is a choice of 12th or 19th March 1975. The second recording is a Friday night but is not 21st. Therefore, choice of 7th, 14th or 28th. Comments?

    Don Stevens was on the radio on 5th March 75  between 2000 and 2100 (I have no idea before 2000); The Album Top 50 after 2100 was with Simon Barrett.

    Something went wrong, error 404 file not found. Files have now appeared but downloading is painfully slow, with multiple cuttings-out.

    Thanks so much for these recordings. I remember this period of Caroline (and Mi Amigo) as one of my favourites. Dave Owen and Johnny Jason were brilliant. 
     

    It was an interesting but difficult time for the stations with the Belgian, Dutch and British causing problems for them. Of course the Mi Amigo boys had just fled to Spain. Crazy they had to do that to provide music radio!

    Is anyone able to get these recordings to the correct speed? They are playing fast. I tried with some of the free software, but have been unable to get it right.

     

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you so much. It is better, but still playing fast. It’s difficult to get right as sometimes the music sounds fine, but the voice is still fast! All to do with pitch I assume.

    I think if you slow them a little more if you can. That would be better. Listen to the music by the Doobies is still paying a little fast. I know it is hard as I have tried but not managed to get it quite right.

    James Ross was op 26 november 75 teruggekeerd naar Caroline nadat de uitzendingen werden hervat na de raid op de MV Mi Amigo. Was eerder te horen als Kelvin Carter op 259.
