GHR in Ierland opnieuw te beluisteren via internet

Eind juni startte Bauer Media in Ierland met het radioprogramma Greatest Hits Radio. Niet lang daarna kwam het bedrijf in een juridisch geschil terecht met concurrent Classic Hits Radio. Deze concurrent wist via een voorlopige voorziening bij de rechter af te dwingen dat Bauer de volledige merknaam Greatest Hits Radio niet langer mocht gebruiken. Ierse rechter verbiedt gebruik van volledige merknaam Greatest Hits Radio

In de Republiek Ierland zendt het radiostation Greatest Hits Radio sinds kort uit onder de naam GHR. Die aanpassing komt voort uit een gerechtelijke tussenkomst van de High Court in een zaak die is aangespannen door Choice Broadcasting Ltd, het bedrijf achter Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio. De rechter achtte de naamsovereenkomst tussen beide stations verwarrend voor luisteraars, zeker gezien het feit dat DAB+ in Ierland nog in opbouw is. Bauer Media start met 'Greatest Hits Radio' in Ierland

In Ierland is sinds kort het radiostation Greatest Hits Radio te beluisteren via het DAB+-netwerk FáilteDAB, dat uitzendt in Dublin en omliggende gebieden. De zender maakt deel uit van Bauer Media Audio Ireland en vult het aanbod aan met pop- en rockmuziek uit de 70s, 80s en 90s.
